At Katika Experiences, we’re passionate about celebrating and uplifting Black-owned businesses while fostering vibrant community connections. Founded as a complementary venture to our innovative technology platform, our mission is to bridge the gap between consumers and local Black entrepreneurs through immersive events and experiences.

Since 2018, we’ve been crafting dynamic events that highlight the richness of Black culture and entrepreneurship. It all began with our renowned Black bar crawls in Philadelphia and Washington D.C., aimed at shining a spotlight on the diverse array of Black-owned bars during traditionally mainstream celebrations like St. Patrick’s Day.

Recognizing the disparity in tourism dollars and narratives, we launched Katika History Tours to offer an alternative, authentic perspective on the historical foundations of our cities and country. This initiative was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from both locals and visitors alike, reshaping the tourism landscape with inclusivity and accuracy.

With the success of our initial endeavors, we expanded our repertoire to include initiatives like Spend the Block, a series of targeted economic pop-ups at Black business corridors throughout the tri-state region. Our commitment to showcasing Black excellence extended to the world of viticulture with Noire Wine Tasting, an event designed to spotlight Black-owned wine brands.

In collaboration with The Melanin Market, we curated the groundbreaking Black Pop-Up Marketplace, held at the prestigious Pennsylvania Convention Center. This landmark event showcased the diversity and innovation within the Black business community, drawing attendees from far and wide.

Our culinary prowess takes center stage with the Black Chef Showdown, a thrilling competition where chefs vie for the title of crafting the best dish centered around a particular food item. This culinary extravaganza celebrates creativity and talent while championing diversity in the culinary arts.

And then there’s The Katika Festival—a culmination of our efforts to create a joyous, interactive community event for individuals of all ages. This annual celebration showcases businesses featured on the Katika platform, offering a day of entertainment, education, and empowerment.
